Lakeview Woman Mugged Sunday Morning; 2 Other Attacks Overnight

A woman was attacked and robbed at 9:30 this morning as she walked near her Lakeview home, police said.

The victim was in the 2800 block of North Pine Grove when an unknown woman wrestled her purse away and fled in a waiting vehicle.

Police described the offender as a black woman in her early- to mid-20’s who stands about 5’3” tall and weighs about 150 pounds. She has curly hair and wore dark shorts with blue shoes.

Overnight Muggings

Two more muggings were reported in Lakeview during the overnight hours today.

A man told police that five transgender men punched him in the face and took his money near Belmont and Halsted around 2:30 this morning.

Around 3 a.m., several witnesses reported seeing four men beating and robbing a man in the 3700 block of North Magnolia. Police were unable to find the robbery victim.

Homeless Man Stabbed In Uptown Robbery

A 26-year-old homeless man was stabbed during a robbery attempt under the Lake Shore Drive overpass at Wilson Avenue on Wednesday.

The victim told police that three transgender men approached him and demanded his property around 8:30 a.m. He resisted and suffered a stab wound to his left shoulder when the three offenders attacked him, police said.

The three muggers are described as:
1) Male, black, transgender, 34-38 years old, blond wig, 6-feet tall, 200 pounds, wearing a blue bra and blue jeans
2) Male, black, transgender, 22-24 years old, 5’10” tall, wearing a maroon wig, dark skinny jeans, Nike flip-flops, and no shirt.
3) Male, black, transgender 20-25 years old.
The victim was treated at Weiss Memorial Hospital.
