Boystown: Man Charged With Burglary Attempt

Attempted burglary charges are filed against an Englewood man who was caught trying to break into a Boystown apartment on Monday, police said.

24-year-old Delvon McCune is charged with one felony count of attempted residential burglary for trying to break through the rear door of the victim’s home in the 800 block of West Aldine around 7:20 p.m., police said.

A woman who lives in the building called 911 after seeing McCune on her fire escape, we reported early Tuesday.

Cops arrived quickly and arrested him nearby after he tried to break into the building, according to prosecutors.

McCune’s bail is set at $200,000.

In 2014, McCune was charged with theft and criminal trespass to vehicles in the 3100 block of North Clark. The dispositions of those cases were not immediately available this morning.

Also Monday, police apprehended another burglar in the 1700 block of West Melrose. Parolee Kaavar Venson was charged with burglary in that case yesterday.
