A 23-year-old man died after falling from a fourth-floor porch in Boystown on Friday evening, police said.

Police and EMS responded to the rear of a home in the 3500 block of North Reta at 8:25 p.m. and found the man unresponsive in the rear.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

  1. What was the loud screaming and wailing this morning that caused the police cars and ambulance to arrive in the alley just north of Roscoe between Halstead and Clark? Whatever it was, it sounded serious. (Between 7 and 9 am )

  2. What about that Halsted Street wine shop owner that "accidentally fell" from his 40th floor a few blocks north? The family adamantly denied that was a suicide but the "friends" present at the event stated he was drunk and high out of his mind. I still have a picture of his storefront windows covered in brown paper for a WHOLE YEAR next to Sidetrack as a reminder why I fled "The Nation's First Recognized Gay Neighborhood" 5 years ago.

  4. @Anonymous: You moved because some poor soul either fell accidentally to his death or committed suicide? That's bizarre.
