Three Robberies In Two Hours Last Night In Lakeview And Nearby Lincoln Park

Three robberies in less than two hours late Wednesday into this morning have investigators looking for a suspected robbery crew in Lakeview and Lincoln Park. No one is in custody.

In the first incident, a Lakeview man reported that he escaped a would-be robbery near Paulina Market, 3501 North Lincoln, around 11 p.m. He told police that he noticed a white SUV with large brake lights circling the area before the driver parked his car and the two occupants ran up to him.

The men implied that they had a weapon, but the victim managed to slip away and run home before they could get anything. Both suspects were black men who stood about 5’8” tall. One wore a white hoodie, one wore a red hoodie, and one of them had dreadlocks, the victim said.

  3. Two guys in hoodies approaching victims in the street and mugging them. Sounds awfully familiar to my experience at Lincoln and Cuyler on May 2. However, reading about these experiences that the victims were beaten and the muggers went through their pockets, etc., I am feeling fortunate (for a mugging victim). I'm sorry that the CPD didn't/couldn't catch the guys who mugged me 9 weeks ago because it certainly sounds like they may be continuing their activities.

By the way, my knees are healed but will almost certainly be darkly scarred for a very long time, if not permanently, and I started PT for my ankle today because it's still swollen and painful (after 9+ weeks!). And I'm still looking for a job transfer. *sigh* I hope CPD is able to apprehend (some of) these Aholes to decrease them terrorizing all of us. Be vigilant and hope you all stay safe out there, my friends and neighbors.

    1. Thank you for the update, Sarah. Sorry to hear that they haven't been able to track down those guys. Stay strong (as always!) on that road to recovery!

    2. Get a gun license and learn how to use it.

    3. The problem with a gun is that even if she was carrying, she would have needed the gun in hand to have any chance of stopping these guys. I doubt she had time to reach into her purse and retrieve a gun before these guys were on her

  4. If more people carried guns and had high situational awareness, these kinds of incidents wouldn't be happening.
