Two Charged After Shots Fired At Car In Uptown

A 20-year-old gangbanger is in custody, charged with handing a weapon to a juvenile who opened fire on two men as they sat in a car on an Uptown street Monday night.

Hines | Cook County Sheriff
Prosecutors say Clyde Hines handed the juvenile a handgun in the 4400 block of Racine around 10 p.m. and the boy opened fire on a car occupied by two teens from south suburban Dolton.

Four or five shots were fired, striking the victims’ car, but causing no injuries, police said.

Hines and the teen ran from the scene, but cops found them near the Jewel-Osco at Montrose and Broadway. Both suspects were returned to the shooting scene where they were identified as the assailants, according to police.

Hines, a member of the Black P Stones street gang, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal damage to property. All of the charges are misdemeanors. Bail is set at $50,000. He lives on the block where the shooting took place.

Information about charges filed against the juvenile were not immediately available.

  2. Isn't it nice that the gangs fight for the right to hustle, rob, and fudge our neighborhood(s)...and Nero plays his tiny dancer uhaul tune for our edification.

  3. So his gang only needs to come up with $5000 to get him out if they haven't already. Do we know what Judge set his bond so low?

    2. This is the reality of "gun violence" politics in Chicago. There is zero focus on actually abating ANY of the violence that plagues the inner city youth.

Case in point: Here you have a hardened, professional, gangbanging thug using opperent conditioning to destroy a susceptable child's perception of the value of life...directly providing him with the subsequent equipment and motivation to commit indiscriminate murder...and we are charging him with MISDEMEANORS???

      No federal weapons charges??

      None of the FOID violations??

And the same shrill hags who love to shout about "gun violence" will be out in droves to blame the gun. Ignoring completely the utter failure of a legal system whose muted effect is tantamount to actually encouraging predatory violence by way of planned ineffectiveness.

So sad, that child never had a chance

  6. so if you fire a gun at people sitting in a car but dont hit them the state goes after them with a misdemeanor charge and not attempted murder ? seriously? and people wanr to know why this keeps on happening ? was about the gun ? did they violate any of these wuote unquote gun control laws ?

  7. How is "aggravated assault with a deadly weapon" a misdemeanor? You can shoot at an occupied vehicle with an unlicensed firearm (assumption, unless he has a FOID card) and walk away without serious repercussions?

    1. Even crazier is I think they can still be approved for a FOID after these "misdemeanor" charges. Rham just had stiffer gun sentencing for repeat offenders approved, so maybe they'll serve a full 2 months of their 10 year sentence when these shit bags end up on CWB again.

  8. Anyone know where Clyde Hines is living? Taxpayer subsidized housing, ie. CHA or Voice of the People building being the usual suspects? If so, is he on the lease? Curious minds want to know.

  9. Anyone who would shoot at someone like this or direct others to do so should be locked up for at least 20 years.
