Man Pleads Guilty To Raping Maid At Lincoln Park Hotel

A 48-year-old suburban man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a maid at a neighborhood hotel in 2014.

Dennis Sluskie Jr. will serve 85% of a 9-year sentence under the plea agreement, making him eligible for parole in October 2021. He is required to register as a sex offender for life.

Prosecutors said that Sluskie raped the maid while he was a registered guest at the Inn of Lincoln Park, 601 West Diversey, on February 22, 2014.

Sluskie forgot some personal items when he moved from one room to another room, prosecutors said. When the victim brought his forgotten items to his new room, Sluskie threw her onto the bed and raped her, according to court records.

His dog bit the 43-year-old woman as she tried to fight off the attack.

Police scoured the area and eventually found Sluskie inside the now-shuttered Forever Yogurt shop at 2727 N. Clark.

State records show that Sluskie has a long criminal record that includes prison sentences for narcotics, accruing a third DUI, accruing a fourth DUI, driving on a revoked license with two or more DUIs, and burglary.

  2. This really burns me, a plea deal for 9 years, will serve 6-7, years for forcible rape. And right out of a horror movie, the guy's dog was biting her during the attack. Yet again a career criminal getting a short sentence. How is this not life, 25 years at least. Do we have the worst prosecutors in the country or something? They afraid to try cases? I hope the prosecutor who cut this deal is reading this blog, I say to you FUUUCK YOU.

  5. HEY Preckwinkle and Foxxxxx and miserable Luck-man and all similar clowns....
Just what don't you get here? What can't you understand?
A 43 year old woman. Working at a HARD job. Likely for not a lot of money.
And she gets assaulted, raped, by a career criminal. WTF!
Some of us are fortunate. We're likely not to encounter a guy like Slushie in a place like the Inn at Lincoln Park. But hard working people just might. What the hell don't you understand? Let 'em all free, and they're more likely to prey on 'regular working folks' than anybody else. Cripes.
Don't like Trump? OK. Wonder how he got there....Look in the damn mirror! You f'ers opened the door.

  7. I am surprised my comments have not been published. While most of my comments make it through your undefined filter, some do not. My comments do not contain racism or anything like that so clearly you have some undefined taste filter which I find irritating. If I take the time to write a comment I expect it to be published. I will stop commenting, and tipping (never received a thank you BTW) until you change your policy.

    1. CWB is a great news source. They DO, on occasion, have difficulty seeing the forest for the trees too however.

    2. This is misguided criticism, IMO. Don't assume CWB even read and rejected your comment within a few days of posting it. They are volunteers too and they are doing most of the legwork but cannot necessarily attend to the site 24/7. I'm sure your contributions are appreciated. I don't like the approval process either, but it's not my site and the policy is at CWB's discretion.
