Shoplifter Pulls Knife On CVS Employee; Another Man Robbed At Belmont/Sheffield

Two more robberies were reported in the neighborhood today—a street mugging at a predictable location and a retail theft that turned violent, according to police records.

From the “predictable” file: A man flagged down police officers near Belmont and Sheffield at 3:40 a.m. after being robbed by a man who claimed to have a gun in the 3200 block of North Sheffield.

The offender was a black man in his mid-20’s who was wearing glasses, a denim jacket, and a beanie hat. He took about $150 from the man.

Then, a simple shoplifting turned dangerous this afternoon at CVS Pharmacy, 3101 North Clark.

Police say an employee saw a woman put a pair of hair clippers into a bag and head for the exit around 1:30 p.m.

When confronted, she pulled out a knife and held it to an employee’s throat, police said. The worker backed off and the women fled southbound on Clark Street.

The offender is a short black woman who weighs about 110 pounds and was wearing a black jacket with black pants, police said.

  1. Do we have video footage of the incident from the predictable camera at the predictable intersection? After midnight Belmont and Sheffield is overrun by trans, gang members, and drug dealers. The lakeview speedball.

  2. The Tunny speedball.

  3. Alderman Tunny should demand CPD to live stream the predictable camera at Belmont and Sheffield. 24/7. Let a million eyes be the police.

  4. Oh no we have to keep it hush hush because nothing happens there. Hay we are not fucking morons you morons. We are fed up. Start protecting us by any means possible. Hay Rham your Lake Shore Drive residents are leaving. The ones that paid the huge property taxes. And you made them leave just so they could feel safe somewhere else. Nice job Mr. mayor.

    1. Rham Emanuel is a fucktard. The taxpayers are leaving. Not sure how much longer we will stay in our LSD condo. I'm pissed because I never wanted to leave the city. But it's getting harder and harder to stay knowing that the odds of becoming a crime victim are increasing at a rapid pace. :(

    2. This is what happens when the new radical left takes control of your city. These aren't Dems from your Daddy's days. It will only get worse.

Great condo. Great view. Glad I got out. So did three others I know, all within a block.

  6. Several years back a boss from a westside district permitted citizens to sit in the station and watch the cameras. Don't know if there is an issue doing that. But, why not have the good citizens of Wrigleyville volunteer time and watch some cameras?

  7. CVS pharmacy at 3101 N Clark St ? Hard to believe that shoplifter would be there in this great neighborhood. Must have been an "isolated incident". Why would an employee making $10.00 an hour try to stop a shoplifter, have a knife put to their throat for a pair of hair cutters? CVS, wake up. How many times have the police been called for people taking liquor off the shelves They are in and out of the store in less then 60 seconds. Maybe time to hire a security person ? ? ? Hello ???

    1. Or maybe its time to just give up and leave Chicago. Years on this web site and the crime gets worse more violent more disturbing and between the two of them being in charge, Rham and Tunny well good luck. Get armed and walk tall.
