The FBI is investigating two Lakeview bank robberies that were reported hours apart on Thursday.

In the first robbery, a man walked into the BMO Harris Bank at 3601 North Halsted at 10:56AM and handed the teller a note in which he implied that he was armed.

Police describe the robber as a black man in his mid-30’s who stands about 5’11” tall and has a medium build. He wore a blue “LA Dodgers” baseball hat, a black jacket, blue jeans, and red shoes.

  2. That's the Chase I use, there is very thick bullet proof glass and only a very small air gap so you can communicate with the tellers. How did he get away with money when there was no possible way to use a gun against the tellers? What's the point of that glass if you're just going to give the money away in any case?

    1. I worked at that Chase as a teller for 5 years. The glass is designed for that purpose but if you still feel threatened as the teller then it's best to give the robber a minimal amount of cash to keep him from taking a customer or employee who's not behind the glass hostage.

    1. Seeing as you know all about this and how they make their escape please help arrest them. Are you aware the halsted robbery took 10 minutes for the bank to simply call 911 and the police were there within 1 minute of the call.

    2. I'm aware that in the last year the majority of the bank robberies in Lakeview showed the perp WALKING casually down the street...lol

  4. Why are these cameras so bad? Can't they put them at face level and zoom in closer? They should have high res cameras capture everyone face coming off the El as well.
