Cops Investigate Gunfire In Lakeview, Lincoln Park

Police this week sought surveillance video after gunshots rang out during a fight near Windy City Gyros, 3932 North Broadway, early Monday. No injuries were reported.

Residents and witnesses reported hearing between three and nine gunshots around 1:30 a.m. and cops soon determined that the incident took place in the restaurant’s parking lot.

Witnesses said that a large group began fighting in the lot when one participant pulled out a gun and fired.

The person with the gun fled north on Broadway in a red vehicle, police said.

More Shots In Lincoln Park

Meanwhile, more shell casings found last weekend in Lincoln Park indicate fresh gunfire near the area where residents found casings on August 30.

A resident called police around 12:30 p.m. Saturday after finding three spent casings in the park near the intersection of Arlington Place and Lakeview Avenue. Gunshots had been heard nearby the night before, but no one was reportedly injured.

On September 30, several residents in the 2500 and 2600 blocks of North Stockton and North Lakeview found bullet holes in vehicles and car windows shot out. Two residents found shell casings on nearby Stockton Drive.

Police believe that a man who showed up at St. Joseph’s Hospital with a gunshot wound that morning was likely struck by the gunfire. The “uncooperative” victim claimed that he had was shot in Logan Square.

    1. What does that mean? More upscale housing for the poor? They're not locals that are preying upon the locals. What?

  2. Well there we have it. All residents of Rhams Chicago are under attack. 1000 coppers set to retire in 2017 but do not worry 1000 replacements are on the way. What a joke on us. They play us like fools.I know many wealthy retired folks that have fled Chicago in the past 5 years. Lake Shore Drive condo owners that were paying thousands and thousands of dollars in property taxes and said screw this time to go.

  4. Some of the condos and co-ops on Lakeview sell for over $3 million. I imagine the owners are not happy about this.

  5. Rahm knows the liberals will vote for him like they always have. He has no reason to provide the taxpayers police protection. He would rather give the cops to the south and west side so he can pander to the activists, protesters, reverends, and BLM which is the democratic Hillary agenda.

    1. The Limo Liberals on the Gold Coast think nothing is wrong in their guarded, high rise caves. However, there was a shooting right on Michigan Ave at 7pm last night near the Art Museum. So even broad daylight near the Loop is dangerous, though this was after a fight, not random.
