Wild wig wearing senior robs Boystown bank

A Boystown bank was robbed Saturday afternoon by a man who also robbed a Near North Side bank last month, according to the FBI.

The offender walked into Fifth Third Bank at 3601 N. Broadway and handed a hold-up note to the teller just before 2PM on Saturday, police said.

He took the note back, pocketed $700 of the bank's money, and was last seen walking southbound on Broadway, according to a witness.

The same man also robbed the Fifth Third Bank at 29 W. Division on July 12, the FBI said.

They describe the suspect as a thin black man in his late 50's or early 60's who stands about 5'6" tall. He wore a large wig and a hat in both heists, according to police.

A reward is being offered for information that leads to the suspect's capture. Tips may be relayed to the FBI's Chicago office at 312.421.6700.

  3. "Walking southbound???"

first off I highly doubt this person had any type of weapon and secondly I think a child could have tackled him on Broadway.

  4. The zany and "harmless" criminal could well be an important client of the Heartland Housing Chain of Flophouse Planning and Management (but not financing--that is handled by Taxpayerz, Inc.). This criminal now can and should live where he commits his crimes if he uses his CHA Vouchers at the newest flagship of flophouse diversity: the LGBT Senior Apartments in Lakeview at 3600 N Halsted. No need to commute to and from inconvenient locations any longer!! Walk to your victim. Rob him. Walk back home. Simple. Easy. Good for the tapestry that is Lakeview. Lakeview has always had a variety of housing stock! At one time, you had to pay for it, but that was a period of shame for Lakeview. Now, in the proud, enlightened days for Lakeview, witness as a youth starts out as an esteemed client of Lakeview Lutheran, residing in a modest flophouse such as The Crib. Later, with coaching provided by Heartland Alliance, the CHA and the COH, see him become a special client and a special man, a client of no one, but using his CHA vouchers AS AN ASSET to Lakeview to live virtually for free at the newest and grandest flophouse around. He is emphatically NOT a taxpayer! Taxpayers must pay twice. First pay for the flophouses, second, pay by witnessing ever encroaching urban blight!

  5. Some of the perps that Let'em Go Luckman lets go are worse than this guy. No violence, he probably said thank you. I doubt he's a gang member- not enough random violence. Doubtful he's violent. Probably a crackhead though. Seniors are ballsy but not so stupid a gangbangers. If he stops now- never gonna get caught. Take your $700 proceeds and get your Denny's grand slam with AARP discount like 80 times and stop robbing banks. Just sayin
