A 24-year-old man was beaten and robbed this morning along the Boystown bar strip, according to a witness and police.

The man was found bleeding heavily on the corner of Halsted and Buckingham around 3:45AM, the witness said.

Police determined that the man had been attacked and robbed behind the D.S. Tequila Company patio at 3346 N. Halsted Street. Taken were the victim’s wallet and iPhone.

The offender is described as a black man in his mid-20’s who stands about 5’7” tall. He was wearing a navy-colored tee shirt, navy-colored pants, and dark blue shoes.

An ambulance transported the victim to Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment.

  1. we need an app that when your phone is stolen you dial the stolen phone and the phone explodes killing the thief making the phone totally worthless to the criminal and not able to sell to the stolen phone company sales

    2. Holy sh*t that is hilarious. You'd have to have a very stable compound. The Israelis assassinated a Hamas target in such fashion but used a phone call to detonate. I'm just laughing at all the iPhone robbers missing 1/2 of their head

  4. They have the tech to "fry" a phone once stolen rendering it useless but it is near impossible to find as the big providers do not want people using it

  5. Am I the only one noticing our Police rights are being stripped away from them weekly? The criminals have more rights than our Police! What have we all done here? And how close is straight anarchy?

  6. Are you just waking up from your nap? We need to awaken the 20-30 year-old crowd too. This will be their future more than most of us here who care.

    1. Really? I haven't seen a one of you marching the streets or talking to the media. I see the citizens in englewood marching and talking and complaining as does the entire country but you in 19th district are as silent as church mice

    2. You see....many people in the 019th have these inconvenient things called jobs. Often time jobs interfere with time off for street protests.

  7. The guy who got robbed didn't lock his door and had an improperly installed window air conditioner. Case closed. Nothing to see here.
    His fault.
