Shots Fired Near Wrigley Field Wednesday, Suspect Charged

Travis
UPDATE 7:48PM--Bail has been set at $250,000 for Shuan Travis of the 4600 block of N. Clarendon.

Our original report from this morning follows.
---------------------------------------
A 35-year-old Uptown man is to face weapons charges today after several witnesses reported seeing him fire gunshots into the air near Wrigley Field Wednesday night.

CWB Chicago is withholding the man’s name until he appears in court this afternoon.

Police responded to multiple calls of shots fired near the stadium shortly after 11 o’clock last night. Patrons at a popular Wrigleyville sports bar told officers that they saw the man firing shots, too.

Shell casings were found in the 3700 block of N. Sheffield and the man was taken into custody moments later in the 3800 block of N. Kenmore, police said. A firearm was also recovered.

The suspect was described as male, white, 6’4” tall, 35 to 40 years old, and wearing Blackhawks gear.

  6. Hopefully, he doesn't get Judge Luckman. He'll give him a wink and nod and give'em an I-bond to teach him a lesson.

  8. Does anyone know the whole story? I live just down the street by the Bleachers on Sheffield. I heard a quick pop just after 11 pm Wed. night because my window was open. Suddenly I hear a much louder pop and run to the window. Upon looking out onto Sheffield north towards Grace two females literally were ducking behind a car. I thought I was going to walk up upon a body, but 20 or so neighbors were out terrified. He apparently pulled a gun on a 65+ year old then pointed it at people across the street before shooting 5 or 6 rounds into the air. Not sure if it was a failed robbery attempt or a drunk idiot wannabe gangster from Uptown? Very, very sad that I don't feel safe when the Cubs aren't in town.
