UPDATE: Charges Filed In Boystown Stabbing

Charges have been filed in connection with the stabbing that left a Boystown man hospitalized early Monday morning.

25-year-old Christopher Holmes of the 500 block of W. Aldine has been charged with one count of aggravated battery/great bodily harm, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Police say Holmes and the 28-year-old victim were drinking in an apartment at 549 W. Aldine when they began to argue. Holmes grabbed a knife and stabbed the other man several times in the back and legs.

Holmes is due in bond court this afternoon.

As CWB Chicago reported in our initial story, Holmes and the victim are co-workers at a well-known casual dining restaurant on the North Side. Holmes was cut on his right thumb during the attack and received several stitches before being charged.

  1. Looks like Holmes has a prior arrest for theft of labor/services/property in 2014.

  4. Did anyone read DNA Info today? Holmes went before Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr today who told Holmes he could be released on electronic monitoring ( after stabbing someone 7 times ) if he qualifies for the Sheriffs program. If not he will be held on $350,000 bail. Hum . . . Ankle bracelet and go home or put up 10% of $350,000 ???? Is Cook County a joke ? That blindfold on Lady Justice must be real tight not to see this.

    1. That stabbing was just a little prick compared to the brutal "roommate" slaughter on Stratford a couple of years ago. I think that one was a famous fashion designer for Oprah or something.

    2. CWB- Can we get a list of these "judges" who do not have law abiding citizens well being at heart? I would be more then happy to help pass these out on Election Day to enlighten the public. This is so shameful and embaressing. We pay this judges salary with our outrageous taxes too.
