WOMAN: Robbers Followed Me From Brown Line Station

A woman who says two men robbed her after following her from the Paulina Brown Line station has joined a growing list of Lakeview robbery victims.

The offenders claimed to have guns when they jumped her and took her tan purse near Roscoe and Marshfield shortly after midnight on Friday, the woman said.

She described the offenders as two black men, both about 20-years-old and between 5'7" and 5'9" tall. They were dressed in all black clothing and they wore masks over their noses and mouths.

Woman Robbed Near DePaul

In another case, a Lincoln Park woman told police that she was jumped and robbed by three men near the intersection of Racine and Montana around 5 o'clock yesterday morning.

Witnesses said they saw the woman chasing the suspects down an alley after they took her purse and two duffel bags. Her efforts to catch the men were not successful, police said.

The offenders are described as three black men—two wearing all black clothing and the third wearing a burgundy hoodie.

About ten minutes after the mugging, a different caller reported seeing three men matching the robbers' descriptions attempting to break into a Ford Explorer about two blocks from the robbery scene. Officers were unable to locate the suspects.

  2. Tunney is right on it --- for CTA station artwork in his FB page. "CALL FOR ARTISTS for Public Art Projects for up to Eleven (11) CTA Locations"

    That'll scare those robbers away.

When you are of no substance, throw up a snow job to fill the vacuum.

  3. Great planning by the offenders with a connection to the red line only a few stops away.

    1. Lots of them arrive in cars sitting on 22's with bass units. They circle blocks for hours.

  7. His FB is full of the usual bullshit. He has a filming notice, an ad about a "safety awareness workshop" being led by Anita Alvarez (the solicitor who lets a lot of thugs go free), and a lame-ass blurb for a "19th District Steering Committee Fundraiser." Now, what, pray tell, is that? Steering committee for what? Folks, this alderpuss is USELESS. He's more concerned about art at 11 CTA locations (and I'm all for art, but let's get our priorities in order, Tommy) but yet crime and especially robberies continue to surge upward. I predict this is going to be one hell of a catastrophic spring and summer in Ward 44.

    1. Don't worry Lake Shore Drive residents, Tommy will keep those noisy boaters from partying in the harbor this summer with the few police we have left.

  8. You are just seeing the tip of the iceberg for the 44th ward. This is not warm up time and they are just testing the waters. Wait until the warmer weather hits us. You thought that Chiraq was about Englewood? Wait, they may be filming Chiraq 2 in Lakeview before summer is over. Now who will play Tunney? The character from Mad Magazine ? "What me worry"??????
