TAXI GRAB: Bargoers Followed Home, Robbed

Two men who taxied home from a Clark Street bar early Saturday were followed by a carload of men who jumped out, beat, and robbed at least one of them when they arrived at their destination, police say.

When victims exited their taxi in the 3300 block of Hamilton around 3:40AM, at least two men jumped out of a following car and initiated the attack. One victim was transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment. The second victim was last seen running southbound on Hamilton with two offenders chasing behind him.

Taken from the first victim were the man’s wallet, keys, and cell phone.

Both offenders were black men, with one said to be 6’1” tall with short black hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt. (CPD case HY243834)

  5. Think if we have a terror attack here? Chicago isn't ready for it.

  6. Years ago a friend and I while leaving a cab asked the cab driver to please wait until we got to our apartment door. Once at the door we waved to the cab driver and he drove away. Just then a man jumped out of the bushes and exposed himself. We screamed, struggled with the keys then ran up three flights of stairs. We took a cab for safety, not knowing that a creep would be waiting outside our door.
