  1. Folks got to learn that YOU SIMPLY DO NOT WALK in Lakeview between the hours of 12:00 - 05:00. If folks would stop doing it, the crooks would have no one to prey on. You are like chum to the sharks when you walk alone, with no conceal/carry weapon, and maybe tipsy from the bars.

    1. Yes, let's just blame the victims.

Personally, I want to be free to walk in my neighborhood whenever the need requires it. If I get a call that my mother is being taken to the hospital and I want to go get my car to be with her, shouldn't I be allowed to do that without fear of being robbed, beaten or worse?

When you give up freedom for safety, you ultimately lose both. We should not be ceding our neighborhood to criminals, even if it's for a few hours at night. I don't "got to learn" to not go out until 5am. I need to put my foot down and make sure that criminals know they're not welcome here, ESPECIALLY during a given set of hours of their choosing. Because if they get away with it long enough, the number of hours they take as their own will only increase.

    2. HEY - I hear you amigo - but you have to live in reality. I personally left my condo in Lakeview for greener pastures in Asia - but I still visit every year and always worry about my wife running at night. You got to be smart. That is what separates the top % from the rest - risk assessment.
