Afterwards, according to a police source, Klepacz and one of the reported strangers left Dugout and boarded another Red Line train, which they rode to Howard Street. The man who rode to Howard with Klepacz later called 911 to report that Klepacz had been "jumped on" at 1530 W. Fullerton in Lincoln Park.
Like A Movie
In a sad twist, CWB has learned that the events of that Monday night bear some resemblances to a film that one of the three apparent strangers developed several years ago.The plot: Three friends get drunk and high, then board a Red Line train where they decide to rob a man as the train travels from Addison to Belmont. The incident escalates, the victim is stabbed (although not fatally), and one of the three men—who didn't like the robbery idea in the first place—struggles with the urge to inform police.
