POOR ROI: Masked, Armed Robber Nets $19 At Lakeview Convenience Store

An armed robber who targeted the 7-Eleven at Irving Park and Southport this morning escaped with a whopping $19, police say.

According to a 19th district sergeant, the offender displayed either a "sawed-off rifle" or a sawed-off shotgun. The offender's face was covered with a purple rag that had eye holes cut out.

After receiving the cash drawer's paltry contents, the robber fled eastbound on Irving Park Road.

He is described as a white male, 43 to 50 years old, 5’9" tall, 190-200 pounds. He wore a dark tan or brown coat over a dark blue hoodie, dark pants, pink or red gloves, and he carried the firearm in a dark blue bag.

Recorded as an armed robbery with a firearm in case HX197713.

UPDATED: Added fuller description of the weapon.
