OH THANK HEAVEN: 2 Questioned In 7-Eleven, Pizza Store Robberies

Two people—one man and one woman—are being held for questioning in a series of robberies across the city that made newscasts on Friday. The newscasts have been mentioning a 7-Eleven robbery on Lawrence and a Sarpino's pizza robbery on the Near West Side in their stories.

19th district officers believe the male is also responsible for pulling a "sawed off rifle" or sawed-off shotgun in a robbery at another convenience store a little closer to home. CWB told you about that 7-Eleven robbery at Irving Park and Southport on Tuesday.

CWB has learned that officers recovered a firearm from a trash can near the Lawrence robbery scene around 9 o'clock last night. The gun had been stashed in a garbage can behind the 2200 block of Leland.
