SORRY, WRONG COUNTRY: Rough Evening For Area Ne'er-Do-Wells

It was a rough couple of hours for some people who crossed paths with police officers in the neighborhood last night

A resident in the 900 block of Cornelia called police after a stranger continuously knocked on her door, repeatedly tried to open her apartment door, and refused to leave.

Officers encountered a 21-year-old Albany Park man upon arrival and ran a search for warrants.

Unfortunately for the man, who is of Indian decent, there is an outstanding administrative warrant for his removal from the United States due to immigration violations. He was taken into custody so that little matter can get fleshed out.

Earlier on Tuesday, a 21-year-old man who was stopped during an investigation of an alleged battery was taken into custody for a warrant at Halsted and Buckingham.

  1. Isn't Cook County a safe haven for illegal aliens? I thought Preckwinkle was having them all over for dinner. Or at least the BYC or the Crib could take them in since they require no ID? Ya know since illegal aliens "don't respond well to rules."

    1. ...disappointed this ignorant comment was published. let's stay focused.

    2. Chicago is a "Sanctuary City." Ms. Preckwinkle voted in favor of that action. Immigration is not our beef.
