UPGRADE: Shoplifting Turns Into Robbery At Ragstock

A standard shoplifting evolved into a strong arm robbery this afternoon when a man dressed as a woman pushed an employee to the ground while stealing a bundle of clothes from Ragstock, 812 W. Belmont, just before 4:30 Saturday afternoon.

The offender is described as a dark-complected male, 25 to 30 years old, 5'8" to 5'10" tall, 180 pounds, wearing a short red and black wig, tan blazer, black jacket, and jeans. Last seen fleeing the scene with a bundle of clothes.

This case is recorded as a strong arm robbery in CPD case #HW481117.

  1. Thanks. I prefer "man dressed as a woman" rather than "transgendered" as I'm sure it's more accurate in these reports.

  2. Freak would work just as well. These thugs are a disgrace trying to portray themselves as transgender - a population group that has more than enough of its own issues to deal with let alone these losers.

  3. Wait until Halloween. Think of all the unsuspecting revelers coming to this area. Hopefully none of them come dressed up as sitting ducks, as the irony would just quack me up.

  4. I also agree with the phrase 'man dressed as a woman'. These are not transgendered people. There is actually a difference.

Indeed there is. Thanks to the readers who understand the difference between transgendered and disguised. Even here at CWB, this has been an evolving understanding. Our list of tags still contains "transgendered" from the days before we understood the difference.
