UPDATED: Gunman Robs At Clark/Roscoe, Flees Toward Halsted

A gunman robbed a female victim of her iPhone at Clark and Roscoe, then fled toward Halsted Street at 10:27PM tonight.

The offender is described as a male, black, 17-20 years old, 6-feet tall, wearing a bandana with a black and white design across his face. He also wore a gray and white puffy coat and light-colored jeans.

He was in the company of another person in a red hoodie who stood 5'5" to 5'7" as well as a female, black with longer hair and dark clothing.

The incident is logged as a robbery with a handgun in CPD case #HW493179.

  1. Is there any sports or bar party going on tonight that enticed these criminals to come out and "prey" at 10:30 on a random Monday night? It just seems like a dead night around the neighborhood-- which is terrible because you literally can never predict when crime is going to happen in this 'hood. I hate to say crime is predictable on a Friday or Saturday night or during a Hawks, Cubs, or Bears game, but it is. Some of my rose colored glass-wearing friends think I'm nuts for being paranoid 100% of the time living here, but clearly I'm living in reality.

    1. They are mixing it up. Pretty quiet weekend in the neighborhood, yet there were robberies and bearings during the week. Ya never know, we suppose.

  2. Gosh, are there any "youth centers" on Halsted or Wellington that could be enticing offenders of this demographic to the neighborhood with free goodies and refuge?
