COME HERE OFTEN?: Offender Walks Into Center On Halsted As His Victim Awaits Evidence Technician

After a woman's ex-boyfriend allegedly bashed her in the head with a brick in the 3900 block of N. Broadway this afternoon, police took her to the Center on Halsted to await the evidence technician who would document her injury.

As she waited, the ex-boyfriend just happened to find his way to the Center On Halsted, too. Security officers at the Center detained him and police soon arrived to make the arrest.

CPD case #HW492578.

  2. Any word on the person who fell from the building on Pine Grove? I saw something on the Tribune's site.

Classified as an accident. He may have fallen as he cleaned his apartment windows, an officer said. It's a five-story building. We don't know which floor he was on or if he hit the concrete driveway or the grassy area.

  4. Center on Halsted spokesman Tom Elliott is confident that criminals do not use the services of Center on Halsted.

  5. Wait, there are criminals at the Center on Halsted? I thought they employed two armed security guards because of Al Queda.

I think the quote was something more like they are not involved in the crime that is happening (ie: robberies). But we're getting close. Patience, young grasshopper.

  7. Well, this wasn't a crime they will say, but a "domestic dispute".
