NEARBY: Teen Trio Robs 2 At Gunpoint Near DePaul

UPDATE 8 AUGUST 2013: Working to clarify if there was one or two robberies. Conflicting information is coming in.

UPDATE 13 AUGUST 2013: CWB has confirmed that only robbery took place. Reference to the possible second incident has been removed.

A gang of three young thugs wearing masks is believed to be responsible a robbery at gunpoint in the DePaul area of Lincoln Park last night. The victim was robbed of his laptop and backpack near Kenmore and Belden, just south of Fullerton Avenue, at 11:15PM.

The offenders are described as three males, black, all short, thin, and in their early teens. They were last seen running toward Fullerton Avenue.

About 20 minutes after the robbery, a citizen reported three black males behaving suspiciously in an alley near the crime scenes. Several police units arrived quickly and conducted a thorough search of the area without success.
