LAKE VIEW ROBBERY AT GUNPOINT: Off-Duty Cop Helps Track Suspects

Two offenders robbed a victim of a Motorola Razr phone near Cornelia and Ravenswood around 10:45 last night. After an extensive search of the area, which was assisted by an off-duty officer who called in a sighting of the suspects, two individuals matching the suspects' descriptions were stopped at Racine and Patterson, one block west of Wrigley Field.

It is not known if the individuals were taken into custody.

  2. I am the victim. I have to say police responded very quickly and were thorough in their handling of my call. I didn't know they stopped the pair shortly after and I wish they had called me to identify them as I got a good look and could have done so.

    Hi Anonymous,

It's good to hear that your experience with CPD officers was as positive as ours was when we were victimized separately over a couple of years.

They were quite aggressive in tracking these individuals down, so they surely would have followed through if the stop panned out.

We wish you well and thank you for your readership and participation.
