BUSTED: West Lakeview Robbers Arrested Approaching Area On Clark Street

Two men who robbed a victim in west Lakeview early this morning were arrested 30 minutes after the attack when sharp-eyed officers saw the thieves walking up Clark Street toward Wrigleyville and Boystown.

The events began to unfold at 1:24 this morning when the two thugs beat a man in an alley in the 3000 block of N. Southport, taking his wallet and iPhone.

A description of the offenders, who fled eastbound on Barry Avenue, was broadcast to 19th district officers. One robber was tall, skinny, male, black, and wearing a red shirt. The other was a Hispanic male, about 6 feet tall wearing a white t-shirt and a backwards baseball hat.

About 30 minutes after the attack and over a mile away from the scene, cops on routine patrol stopped two men matching the offenders' descriptions on Clark Street, a half-block south of Belmont.

The victim was driven past the offenders and he was able to positively identify them as his assailants. Proceeds from the robbery were subsequently recovered from the robbers.

  1. Pretty obvious we live in the happy hunting grounds. While concealed carry will do nothing to stop the south and west slaughter (and who cares really), one dead predator will be a game changer outside of Chiraq
