BOYSTOWN THUG BUSTED: Tenacious Victim Wins One For The Good Guys

Bravo, sir! Another Boystown robbery victim refused to let a couple of thugs ruin his Sunday evening. Shortly after 11 o'clock Sunday night, police received a 911 call from a man at Cornelia Avenue and Elaine Place whose phone had been stolen.

The victim reported that two black men, one about 6'2" tall in an orange shirt, the other with no description, took his phone and fled eastbound on Cornelia, then southbound on Broadway.

Less than five minutes later, two units had one of the offenders in custody at the Belmont Red Line. The thief was positively identified and the victim's cell phone was returned to its rightful owner.

Editors' note: The police department classified this case as a larceny. The original incident occurred at the intersection of Halsted and Cornelia.
