STICK UP: Gunman Strikes Near Wrigley Field

A local college student was robbed at gunpoint just one block west of Wrigley Field as he walked to his Clark Street home this morning.

Police say a gunman approached the victim at the trendy corner of Southport and Waveland, where the victim was forced to walk a short distance down Waveland at gunpoint. There, the victim was relieved of his wallet, which contained about $200 cash, and an empty black shoulder bag.

The thug is described as a male, Hispanic, about 5'8" tall, with short hair, wearing a gray hoodie. He fled westbound on Waveland, then northbound on Ashland in a red vehicle.

The perpetrator has not been found.

UPDATE: At 3:55AM in the same area, a female called 911 to report that a male, Hispanic, 5'8" tall, wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, and work boots followed her as she walked to her home at Sheffield and Grace. Police toured the area, but were unable to locate the suspicious man.
