BEATEN, ROBBED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT: Thugs Escape, Victim Waits 10 Minutes For Police

4 May 2013
Chicago Police Department Case #HW260192

Yet another innocent victim was beaten and robbed in broad daylight on the streets of Boystown and Wrigleyville Saturday afternoon. The 48 year old man was attacked by two offenders at the corner of Clark and Aldine. The thugs took the man's cell phone and fled eastbound on Aldine toward Halsted in a white 1997 Chrysler minivan bearing Illinois license plate N676054, according to witnesses.

The license plate was issued to a Homewood, Illinois, resident for a vehicle that matches the witnesses' descriptions. We are withholding the name of the license plate holder as it is not yet clear if he was involved in the robbery.

Witnesses report that officers took more than 10 minutes to arrive on-scene after 911 was notified of the attack.

Descriptions of the three attackers follow:

ATTACKER #1: male, black, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, in his 30's dressed as a woman in a brown top, leopard or cheetah print pants.

ATTACKER #2: male, black, 5'8", 110 pounds, about 30 years old. Dressed as a man in a white shirt and blue jeans.

GETAWAY DRIVER: male, black.

UPDATE 6 MAY 2013: Clarified our reason for withholding the name of the person to whom the license plate was issued.
